For example during the summer when it's hot it's max would be like 10miles or like 15minutes so my dad would drive it to work, let it cool for 8 hours come back home with it safely. It can be used for long use as long as it doesn't climed down to 2nd gear, for example i can take the highway for 40 minutes and 40+ mile but then when i hit the toll and slow down it will get like clunky starts or get stuck in 2nd ect. The useablilty of the car is like x 2 during the winter for around town use but same for highway. And no there is no permanent fix, it was a factory defect tranny that affects most cars of that era. The car has 120k miles and we only put 5000miles/year because of the tranny. It was our second car for 4 years until recently i bought the Z and someone just gave us a minivan for free so we have 4 cars.
